As far as I know Rogers is the only cell provider in Canada that provides the customer name and number as part of the caller id data for each  call which would be seen on a landline call display unit.  Everybody else just provides the phone number.

For people to see your name in most cell phones they have to have you listed in the contacts section and have number display as part of their package.

Yes that is one of the things I miss from Rogers.

Just adding this here - to be honest i don't want my name displayed on people's call display - it can be handy at times yes. But at same time some people such as my self want privacy.

That's when you dial *67 before the number to block your caller id (#31# on Rogers and some other companies)

I am aware of that - I want my number displayed I just don't want my name. And fyi *67 does not work on HSPA - the number will show up. I learned the hard way few years back - it will show your number. You have to dial #31#.

Good morning Karen, Clifford and gordon1111 are both correct with their answers here. Your name will not show up unless it's in a paid directory listing.
