It could be due to poor credit, a history directly with MTS or as part of a promotion.

no cable gives promotions without contracts and also comes with wifi.    there are a lot of other cell companies that dont have contracts. And with the internet  you can skype, make calls on the computer for no charges.

Barb, are you talking in respect to internet or to wireless cell?

I have seen with Shaw that some plans require a contract to get certain aspects of a promo.

Hey Barb, the only thing that would have a contract would be cell phones. The contract is in place to cover the subsidy provided to reduce the cost of your phone when its purchased. If you wants to go with a month to month cell plan you can do that. Just keep in mind that the cost of the phone would be higher. I hope this helps

By the time your contract runs out your phone is also outdated so you have to get another one.  I get they have to make money but i dont get that a you have to sign a contract, it should be every 6 months  due to changing technology.   you should be able to switch providers when ever you want, not when you are told.

You can do that. Just bring your own phone and get on a month to month plan.

Hagd is right - you can bring along any phone, that works on MTS' network, and that also will give you a 'Bring Your Own Device' discount on your plan. :)
