Why at least once a day do I have to "Press OK to Watch" when I was already watching a TV show? This happens every single day while I am watching a show?

Basically MTS Ultimate TV streams content over the network in a way very similar to Netflix or Youtube. To save bandwidth from inactive tvs and to provide the best network experience to all users the boxes have a time out and enter a sleep mode. The "Press OK to Watch" message is a way of confirming that someone is actually watching. It's a minor inconvenience compared to the greater potential gains for all customers.

Cop out explanation.  When I'm paying dearly for the service I don't expect it to quit and display "press ok to watch" when the remote can be across the room an I'm missing content.

Somewhere in one of the other previous topics one of the MTS reps was saying the STB units go into a power off mode after 4 hours of inactivity. If you are watching the same channel for more than 4 hours it will power off.

If you switch channels or press info key / guide /etc it should count as activity and reset the clock.

Unfortunately this is a  requirement for the US Energy Star program which the suppler of the boxes to MTS (and other telephone TV providers) is a member of.

If its less than 4 hours your Set Top Box may be defective

I have found the time out is a bit of a pain if I use the Stingray Music channels for background noise in the house as they will time out because of this 4 hour timer.
