we have just signed on for two-year unlimited talk and data plan which gives us unlimited data in Manitoba and unlimited long distance in Canada
why can we not use the buddy plan on this unlimited plan ? we are Long time MTS users and have a house phone Internet TV and another cell phone with MTS
When speaking to a tech on the telephone all I was told was that it was unavailable on the unlimited plan although I could do it with any of their smart phone plan so do I have to downgrade in order to get the buddy phone plan
Can someone please explain why we cannot use the buddy plan on the unlimited talk and text but I can on any other plan.
Come on you nice reps at MTS you helped me with my high-speed Internet in the cottage area , help me out with this

Data Buddy is not available with Unlimited Data plans.

It can be applied to Talk & Surf 5 GB Plan, which also has unlimited local calling and messaging.

Hi Gordon,
Yes that would definitely be appealing! However, Buddy plans can only be added to plans with certain amounts of data because then there's a limit as to how much data can be used. The reason we have to monitor and manage the data on our wireless network is so that we can ensure that all customers have access to a consistent, reliable experience. The number of customers on our Unlimited plans would decrease if the Buddy plan could be added to Unlimited data plans and data usage would likely increase, potentially threatening reliable user experience.

if the unlimited plans are throttled at 15gb why would it really matter if two people share that data?

I get the 15gb slow down . A 10gb plan with rogers is way more. At least we dont have overage charges.. i hate that surprise lol

Kenneth you won't get an answer. MTS doesn't like it when we call them out on the 15 GB restriction because then (guess what!) it's NOT 'truly unlimited' then is it? Oh but then that would mean those 'Truly Unlimited' ads are untrue? Perish the thought that there's deceptiveness in advertising going around ;)
