I'm wondering when I can go to a Bell outlet to get a new phone? Not a BellMTS outlet?

The purchase included agreement to keep head office in Winnipeg. I never heard mention of eliminating MTS entirely and replacing it with Bell. The deal is similar to the Bell Aliant acquisition in 2014.

Hmmm that's not what personnel at the Bell outlet said, they just didn't know when. Still, very confusing for the consumer... BellMTS, MTS, Bell, MTSBell one bought out the other or whatever it was... just wanna know if I'm stuck with only storefronts that have the BellMTS logo?

Just checked the most recent press releases and they only refer to the regulatory approval to launch Bell MTS. So maybe the people you spoke to have inside info or they are hopeful that happens. Bell’s offer was to launch Bell MTS and a lot of money has been spent on rebranding MTS to Bell MTS so I’m skeptical they’ll merge them anytime soon. Just my opinion though.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it.. been on the other end of merges a few times and the employees are the last to know :-)

So, where's the best place to go to renew my expired contract and get a new S8... I like that Visions and Costco actually off cash back (up to $300) for signing a new contract with Bell... was hoping to stay alive with MTS :-)

Hello Debbie Dunmall!

The merge of Bell and MTS has been completed, and MTS is now known as Bell MTS.

Some Bell stores do carry both Bell and BellMTS products, (have seen this at the Bell store in Polo Park Shopping Center), but both brands will remain independent from one another.

Bell MTS has also just opened two new Bell MTS stores in the city of Winnipeg. Please check out the following link to find the closest Bell MTS store near you!

Have a great day! :)

Justin so BellMTS wireless and Bell mobility will continue to operate independently? That is good to know as I am really happy with BellMTS Wireless!

I wonder if there are any differences in reception, as I've noticed a decrease in reception on the BellMTS side (others have said this as well)

About rebranding, I'm curious if they made the letters MTS so thin so they're easier to remove later on?

Hello JG!

Many Bell MTS stores are independently owned and operated, and are authorized to sell Bell MTS products and services. The staff that operate these stores, are hired by those independent owners. Bell MTS has not implemented any partner changes that should change your experience at the Bell MTS stores.

Further to that, with regards to your comment about the "MTS portion of our logo being thin for easier removal," this is not the case. The branding for Bell MTS matches the same format as other branding for Bell subsidiaries and advertisement. For example, the font you see for advertised for Fibe, Bell Aliant, Bell Media, and Bell Mobility, are the same used for the MTS portion of Bell MTS.

I hope this helps answer those questions!

Have a great day! :)

I really hope that many of the amazing things that mts has built continues to be supported long term by BellMTS such as total internet, Flat-rate data and the amazing community forums continue to be well supported and kept.

Flat rate data will be gone sometime in the new year, according to what Bell is telling their employees.

Hello ARKAY1_SID!

Unfortunately we are unable to speak on behalf to what you heard, but I can say with confidence, that Bell MTS is an industry leader in Manitoba, and offers extremely competitive rates, products and services.

At the present time, there are no plans to remove flat rate data from our wireless products and services.

Going forward, the best way to get accurate information would be to consult one of our friendly staff in either Wireless Billing / Sales & Service either web chat on bellmts.ca, or by calling 204-225-5687 Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 6:00PM or Saturday 9:00AM - 5:00PM.

Technical support is also available 24/7 365, and will do their best to find the answers to any of your questions as well.

Additionally, feel free to comment here in the community forums and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can!

Have a great day! :)

I was kind of hoping they would merge completely as I go down south regularly but only for short stints (2-3 days) and the roaming options are horrible compared to almost every one else.

if that’s the case and you go down to the states then maybe Bell mobility is a better option for you. BellMTS has strengths including the unlimited data “Flat-rate” option.

Unfortunately when I signed up I thought I was going through Bell mobility but I was wrong. So I do have the wonderful flat rate plan but still no good roaming plans to choose from. Having said that I have asked for my phone to be unlocked (now free

Oh I see what you mean. Yeah they are two different companies. If you have any issues you can always reach out to BellMTS mobility directly at 204-225-5687 perhaps one day they will get a similar plan to Bell Mobility.
