TV services not working, goes to working again then a minute goes to no signal.

Tv no signal, started last month, continuing to get worse. So, I've been getting no tv services for about a month. Called MTS about it. They sent a technician, they installed a phone jack for the Ethernet cable, one for the long one that's connected to the modem (aka router/TV lines) and short one to connect to the cable box. And still no improvements. Same problem, called again. They sent a different technician, replaced the Cable box. And it works again for awhile. Til it goes back to no signal.

The internet is working fine, there's some netflix going daily and gaming in pc.

I use a Residential Gateway (RG) Model 5168N.

Also, moved the cable box around and unplugged it. Needed space for my xbox.

It might be we need new ethernet cables that connected to the RG. Long ones. The internet has been working fine. TV goes to working again for a few minutes to getting no signals continuously.

Will call MTS again when they're back to working again, holidays season.

Sorry for the delayed response.  MTS Tech Support is open 24/7, even over the holidays so you can give us a call at any time.  This sounds like a frustrating and possibly complicated issue to take care of for you.  I agree that the age of a cable really has no bearing on it functioning or not, it would be more likely that it could have been damaged or something like that. Either way it's certainly something we can help you look into.
