Is there a plan in the near future to reorder the TSN channels so they are consectutive and in order (ie TSN = 1020, TSN2 = 1021, TSN3 = 1022, TSN4 = 1023, and TSN5 = 1024)?

It would also be great to get access to TSN Go.

Hi Cory,

Yes there is a plan to clean up and simplify the guide. We apologize that the TSN channels aren't in sequential order right now as we know it's not ideal, but the reason for this is we felt it was more important for them to be launched first, and then we will simplify the guide order.

TSN has been on channel 22 since MTS TV launched over a decade ago, so with its re-brand to TSN3, we wanted to avoid moving it.  We will place the other TSN services on channels that are in numerical sequence with TSN3 (and TSN2 which is already on channel 21), but first we need to move the services that are on those channels.

Those services also have loyal viewers, of course, and we want to ensure that those people can easily find the new channel locations.  Whenever we move a service, we try to replace it with a message that identifies the new channel location.  That means the channel is not available to be occupied immediately by another programming service.

We also have an obligation to provide programming services with a certain amount of notice before a new channel may be assigned.  Our negotiations to launch the new TSN channels and provide Winnipeg Jets games on TSN3 did not leave enough time to notify the other programming services.  So they will be moved the next time we make channel changes - with messages guiding viewers to the new locations.  The TSN services will then be moved with our next channel changes after that.

In the meantime, some customers have been using MyPicks (channel 93) to set up a view of all five TSN channels at the same time.  Personally, I’ve found it to be very helpful with today’s coverage of the U.S. Open.

I can’t say much about TSN Go, but we do we recognize the value that it could bring to some customers.

Just talked to the folks involved in line up changes.  Yes they will be moving the channels around but it will be done when we do our next major new channels project.

While for some customers, channels changing location is not a big deal, for many customers, changing the channel numbers is a rather distressing.  we try to minimize those and do them when we have to.

It is definitely something we will be doing, but there are some more important projects we are concentrating on at this time.
