okay my family and i are travelling, my daughter received a note stating that she has exceeded her roaming but when we left mb it was was turned off....i hope we will not receive any added costs to the bill...why did we receive this message?
Hi Valerie, That message can be deceiving sometimes. There is roaming within Canada, and there is Roaming outside of Canada. Within Canada you wouldn't pay roaming fees, and the device itself wouldn't recognize it as actual roaming since you are in the same country. You would only be limited by the available data on your plan for roaming outside of Manitoba. If you are traveling outside of the country then you should not be able to incur any charges without accepting them first, having roaming turned off is a great step, an additional step that helps (and what I do myself) is turn data off entirely. So as you can see, depending on where you are will change how the usage is managed. I hope this helps clarify it.
