My wife's Galaxy S5 is set to automatically join "MTS Wireless" Wi-Fi networks and there doesnt appear to be any way to stop it. It is incredibly frustrating when driving as the phone is almost useless because its continually trying (and failing) to connect to them. Is there any way to remove it from the list (long pressing it like you would for any other network doesnt do anything)?

Official Response
Good morning Mr Woodrowe Bones,

I have a couple of suggestions for you -
Go into your settings on the Samsung Galaxy S5 (swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the little bolt icon).
Ensure you are in the 'Connections' tab.
Tap 'Wi-Fi'

Then try one or both of the following:
a) Uncheck the 'Smart network switch'

b) Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the screen
Chose 'Advanced' by tapping it
Uncheck 'Always allow scanning'

Those should prevent the phone from constantly looking for the connections to Wi-Fi.

If you deleted the "MTS Wireless" setting you would no longer be able to connect to free Wi-Fi hotspots in locations such as the MTS Center, The Investors Group Stadium, the Winnipeg Libraries, coffee shops etc.

I hope this helps!
