Receiving Voicemails Several Days Late

I have an iPhone 5C.
For the past little while, I have been receiving voicemails around 5 days after they were sent, which can be quite problematic, as you might imagine.
Does anyone know what's wrong, or how to fix this?
Also, I have had the same problems sometimes with texts, although those are usually just a day late or so.

Hi Deanna,
I can certainly understand how these delayed messages, both voicemail and SMS, could be problematic.  The 2 of them are likely separate troubles.
Regarding the voicemail; it's possible the messages themselves are coming in on time but the notification is delayed.  It's also possible the mailbox may be corrupted and needs to be fixed.
Regarding the SMS delays; is it all text messages or is it iMessage?  SMS uses the same network as voice, however iMessage uses data exclusively so it would be more susceptible to delays.

Both of these issues certainly require some investigation and troubleshooting to properly diagnose and resolve.  I highly recommend giving our tech support crew a call when you have the chance.  We can be reached 24 hours a day at 204-225-5687 and we can certainly help you through this.

Thanks.
For the SMS delays, it has been both normal text messages as well as iMessages.
I've just been planning on waiting till my contract is up, which will be fairly soon and hopefully I won't have the same problems with a new phone.
Thankfully, I usually don't deal with large volumes of phone calls and voicemails, but I was wondering if there was maybe some quick fix.
But thanks!

Unfortunately we have the same problem with our Mobile voicemail services.  Takes a few days + to get the notification.  The voicemail services came with the package we got 2 years ago and we never really depend on it because of this problem.  I guess it looks good as part of the package... but really!!!!!!

On the other hand, our texting service is excellent.

Namuh, sounds like some troubleshooting could help resolve the voicemail notification issues. Have you been in contact with our technical support team at all?
If you send us your mobile phone number and account information to community@mts.ca we can give you a hand. :)

No I have never been in contact with tech. support for this particular problem. This problem has been around for years already and I just didn't feel it was worth the time to address it. . Will be updating my contract shortly and will deal with it at that time. Thank you for reply Tennille.

Hey Deanna,

Both your voicemail indicators and text messages are delivered to your mobile phone by a text message. Without any more detail, I'd guess the delays are within the voicemail system itself, the network being unable to locate your phone, or the phone itself. If you email community@mts.ca I can certainly check into this for you.

Thanks, it probably is the network. I live out in the country and have fairly crap reception/network service out here

Something else to keep in mind is there are issues with how text messages are handled in iPhones. It usually shows up when a customer had an iPhone and has switched to something different.

Thanks, that actually might very well be the/one of the problems. I will give it a shot and see how it goes!
