Hi, can a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge be used on MTS Prepaid? I already have a Prepaid account with an iPhone 5, so can I just transfer the # over to an S7 and buy a sim card for it?

Lastly, is it worth the $25 to have them activate in-store, or just call the 1-800 number and do it myself for free? Not sure how involved the 1-800 activation/switching process is. The phone is brand new (purchased outright) and not branded or locked to any carrier.

Thanks!

Should not be a problem to use the Galaxy S7 for prepaid.  Its more of the number is assigned to the prepaid system and not the actual hardware.

As to the activation question I guess its how comfortable you feel doing it yourself compared with paying the Connect store to do it.

It turns out iOS5-->Galaxy S7 uses same sim card, so was as simple as swapping sim into the new phone and done. $0 cost and no programming. :)
