Poor data on Android in Saskatchewan

We travel to Saskatchewan a bit and when there I get next to nothing when it comes to data, even though it shows 3 or 4 bars. My wifes iPhone seems to have no issues. But my Android is horribly slow or has nothing at all. Her iPhone seems to switch automatically to the Sasktel network while mine status on MTS. Is there something I'm missing? A setting?

Hi Curtis, MTS has an agreement with both Rogers and SaskTel in SK. It may be that in the areas you are in the SaskTel network is just simply stronger in those areas, what you can do if you go into your setting and I think under mobile networks or somewhere like that you can find a way to manually select SaskTel under the carrier settings.

Have you received a notification saying it reached the 2GB threshold? If you hit 2G in one billing cycle outside of Manitoba you get throttled to 256Kbps.

Something else to keep in mind is even inside MB you can hit pockets with marginal LTE service but get 4G service. You can manually toggle that on Android and it may help.
