Poor Cell Reception in Grande Pointe

I live in Grande Pointe, I'm 3 miles south of the Perimeter Highway along Highway 59 and my wife and I both have bad cell reception. People have trouble hearing us and sometimes we experience dropped calls. Being so close to the with of Winnipeg you wouldn't think this should be a problem.

I have an iPhone 4S and my wife has a Nokia Lumia - both on with MTS. I only get 2 bars on my cell most place in the house and my wife gets marginally better. Outside the house I get 2 to 3 bars. Is there something that can be done to improve cell reception? I've thought about going to a cell booster, does MTS offer such a device? If not, what should I get to improve the reception on both of our cells? Is MTS planning on putting up a tower closer?

Hey Eldon,
I took a look at that area and it does seem that coverage is a little bit spotty.  As the service worked differently in the past in that same spot or is this how it's always been?  As for a booster, if you get a good signal outside, but lower inside than a booster is a good idea.  It can greatly help an area with a weaker signal that has trouble penetrating outside walls.  You can see a related thread HERE where I talk a little bit about boosters and how to know if it will help you or not.  Some areas are much harder to cover due to environment.  Hills, valleys, trees, all cause challenges when providing a wireless signal and can weaken it.
