Hi Kerry,
That is a very good question and one that is getting asked a lot lately with all the new On Demand services coming out.  The short answer I can give is basically buying power.  MTS is still just a provincial company where Shaw and Rogers and such are national companies with billions of dollars behind them.  It's similar to comparing a ma & pa grocery store on the corner to Safeway or Sobey's.  I'm certain there are other factors involved as well but this would be a large part of it.  With that being said we do go to great lengths to try and keep up as best as we can, making agreements where possible and adding features and services whenever we can.  We may not have all the same features as the other big dogs but we have been the leader in a few respects.  We were the first in Manitoba to offer a whole home PVR service.  We were also the first to offer apps on TV, such as weather, games and even Facebook.
