phantom outgoing calls on cell phone

Anyone have their cell phone dial numbers without user input - no not pocket dialing etc, just calling numbers at random?  When the outgoing call is made, the receiving number can hear that there is an open line, talking, tv etc.  When the outgoing cell is checked for outgoing numbers or calls, the "phantom" call is not recorded in the call log but your number shows up on the call display or call log of the phantom receiver.  This happens at random times and on random phones, all MTS network customers.  Nothing like an incoming call at 2am only to hear the bubbling of a fish tank.  No, I haven't spiked my egg nog, this is a problem for more than just a few and wonder if there is a fix especially if you are on an evolve phone.  Thanks

Official Response
Hello Sandra and Clinton,

I have heard of this issue in the past however it has not come up in a few months.  The last time this issue occurred it was actually the receiver side that caused the issue.  From my recollection the call was generated from an error in the system and would initiate a call, usually based on a number from the recipients call display log, and would generate a "dead air" call that rang in the customers home instead of on the cellphone.  This is the reason no call log was created on the appeared sender side.  This trouble should certainly be reported to our technical support group as this is something that we have seen in the past and if it is re-occurring will want to investigate it again.  It's certainly possible the issue this time my have slightly different symptoms or even have a different cause but in either case this is not normal behavior for the service and needs to be rectified.
