Paying more for the same thing?

It's quite frustrating when you are told by one of your loyalty reps that grandfathered packaging can't be worked with when signing up for a new contract. Not to mention the rep was rude and callous. That's pretty much like telling your current customers are idiots and aren't eligible for any of the perks the churners are going to get. 

Being told I have to move to a $60(actually my plan would cost $62.50) plan from my identical $45 a month plan to be eligible for a discount on a new phone does not make sense to me at all. Why would I want to pay more for the same thing? "That was a one time thing only" Yeah I know! I was lucky to sign up for it and it would be stupid for me to get rid of.

My corporate plan I can get through Rogers is looking better every minute. Not to mention the plethora of phones I'm going to get $250 towards for trading in one of my old garbage phones. Might be taking my mom's landline she's been paying for 45 years with me as well as you seem to not care about long term customers.

I thank you. If you want to DM me I can provide you with my account number and such! :) Granted I've pretty much offered 2 years of my money and I was turned down/insulted so I'd be shocked if you could do anything for me.

I've done my research. There is nothing that is worth 17.50 more per month that could justify me getting rid of my current grandfathered plan. If i were to switch providers I would be getting seamless data across the country without this limited to Manitoba stuff and 6 months free spotify + better deals on phones all around not even including trade in credits. I'd be pretty much getting paid to switch.

The raw service MTS provides is great. Your archaic fees and customer service leaves much to be desired. Reminds me of the pre CRTC rules with all of the bait and switching the providers used to do before it became more regulated.

Good chance I'm probably going to get offloaded to Telus when the merger comes through anyways, which is why I'm trying to keep on contract.

Just pickup the phone of your choice (at full price) without being subsidized, pull out your current grandfathered SIM and use your new phone. Then ask for a 10% discount on your monthly plan for being a month to month customer with no contact. :)
