Outage heads up!

Hey, guys, I've wanted to give you a heads up:

Manitoba Hydro has planned power interruption that will affect customers southeast of Pilot Mound and in the community of Snowflake.

The outages will start at 9 a.m. tomorrow and will continue for about four hours.

Approximately 145 customers will be affected by the outage, which is allowing employees to safely upgrade equipment in the area. The work will improve the reliability of service and reduce the possibility of longer, unplanned outages, according to Manitoba Hydro.

So that means it may affect Bell MTS TV and Internet customers in those areas, am I correct?

It could if they don't have a UPS.  If they don't have power to run their TV's, PC's or wireless router its going to be a problem.

I don't know for sure but I don't think those locations have street side DSLAM's  which require electrical power, but if not there should be a signal from the Central office (which should have a UPS or backup Generator)for those that do have a way to keep their equipment powered on.

Clifford made a good point about other technology having power to work - the TVs, PCs and other equipment that would use our services.
