Only on MTS Using KODI/XBMC on an Android box do I get these issues

Is there something which only MTS is blocking?

I am trying to run a new Android TV Box and for some reason I can never get the correct Time on the box (yes, the settings for country, province, and timezone etc are all set up correctly as it works on Shaw)

The time isnt out by a few hours, it always defaults to Dec 1969 or something like that.  The box works everytime when I take it to a place with Shaw as their provider.

Also, there are certain Channels which are extremely popular like GENESIS.  AGAIN!!!  on MTS I get nothing but errors or no options, but on a Shaw connection, I am just fine.

So MTS PEOPLE!!!   What are you blocking or how can I fix this?

I am using your hardware only, not my own router, I have your broadband 50 speed...  This is frustrating.

Oh, and to top it all off...  It works fine on a laptop running XBMC/KODI.  I wish this was an option for me to use everyday but I would like to watch stuff on my big screen tv...

thanks

Official Response
I asked about the comment that was posted where the feature can be enabled on a per household basis, this is not the case.  Port 123 is turned off on a global basis at this time while the security patch is implemented.  I have asked about a timeline for the work, but they can't give me one.  However they did say that once it is complete and tested the block will be removed.  It will be several weeks for that to happen.

Give that whole thread a read, as it seems that you can have multiple NTP addresses in the script, so you concern about having the change the files may not be a concern.  Also mts.ntp.net should be accessible from both within and outside our network, so it should work even if you are not on the MTS network.

I wish I could be of more help, but that is pretty much all the information I have on this issue.

maybe try posting on pivosforum with your specific needs, from what I read on that board there are some very smart people there who understand the android software you are using very well.
