My tv has a red X on the screen

My tv has a red X on the screen. Help! Yesterday, everything was good.
I unplugged the power cord and pluggdd back in after 10 seconds, the red X is still there. The I held down the down arrow key and OK key of my receiver, and pressed the Power key to powercycle the receiver. I saw a gear on the screeen but after seconds, the Gear was gone and the red x came.
I have wifi and wired internet. I changed to different net cord, the problem was still there. Please help.

You can call MTS for service or take it back to a MTS Select store and ask to swap it out explaining it is not working and has a RED X on the display.

By the way please take back the power brick and cord as well if you are going to do a swap at the MTS Select location as as the old one may not be compatible with the new box and the new one will come with a brick and cord anyway.

Hi Gary,
Clifford is correct, you can give us a call to have a technician come out to swap it, or if it is your PVR box, you can swap it at a connect store. Unfortunately that RED X basically means your box is toast so a new one is required. If you do want to swap it yourself it must be the PVR only. This can be identified by the model number below the power button. All the PVR's have a 6 in the model number (VIP 1216 or 2262). As Clifford mentioned though, make sure you bring in the power cord and brick as well.
