As there is likely hardware involved in the services you may still require a visit from BellMTS to change things over to your name.

Yes Cory means  the Fibe TV boxes / modem, but I don't see why you would need a site visit for that.

I would suggest the quickest way to find out what you have to do is contact BellMTS  to see what they need.  You can contact them at 204-CALL-MTS (204-225-5687),    @Bell_MTShelps  on twitter or use the chat on box on the right side of this page https://www3.bellmts.ca/mts/contact+us

I did that many years ago so I could keep the existing landline number (no internet or TV back then)  and at that time they sent me a form to sign saying that I would be responsible for all outstanding charges etc and the person who was giving up the account also had to sign.

hope this helps

My thinking is BellMTS might want to visibly confirm the equipment exists on hand over, hence the site visit.

I wonder if they are pingable via their MAC? That would save a costly truck roll to verify location.

I have been involved in a couple of service transitions in the early adult years changing apartments and room mates on a few occasions.  It was always an easy transition except in a case where a room mate had an outstanding balance in arrears.

So I'd bet that it will be an easy switch.

This is what they call a transfer of service. Your roomie should call and authorize the switch and arrange final billing. Then they will want to talk to you to get your info to take over. You may need to both sign a contract and it’s possible a credit check will be required. Ideally, have your roommate call when you are there so you can get as much done in one phone call as possible.
