Short answer: Yes

Long answer: it will depend on your plan and what options you have. If you have the canada wide long distance add on, then there would be no charge.

Hey Logan,

All our customers get the benefit of free long distance calling between MTS Cellular customers while in Manitoba only. If you are outside of the province, any incoming call will be charged a long distance rate per minute.

Charges are generally $0.50/minute, however dependent on how your plan is made up (such as having long distance built in or adding on a long distance feature before you go) it may be covered. The person who is calling you, will not incur any additional charges.

Hope this helps clears thing up. Please reach out if you have any additional questions!

Thanks,
Gillian

so both people will be charged long distance? What if caller in Manitoba doesn't realize the person they are calling is in another province?

Hi Debbie,

If you are an MTS customer calling another MTS customer; and that customer is outside of the province the customer making the call will not be charged a long distance rate. As they are calling a Manitoba number while in Manitoba number.

Cheers,
Gillian
