A family member has no tv,net or any service this morning.Called in to see if there is an outage.Got confirmed that Hydro had an outage and as a result some cabinets are down.Is this true and if so why is this not on the Service Status forum or page?

Manitoba Hydro was reporting a major outage in Brandon this morning.  While your family member may have hydro  service, the outage may have taken out the DSLAM that services them.

As of noon there is still a small  hydro outage in Brandon in the Chinook bay / Plateau area.

As for no report on the status page  reporting  seems to be hit or miss for hydro caused outages.

It is back on but I still wonder why the status page doesn't show it..hydro caused or not..dslams were still down..customers were without service. It would save alot of time, grief and frustration for the sub..instead of spending all the time unplugging, rebooting and checking connections. I installed and turned up the dslams in Bdn and fortunately I know who to call so why even have a status page for the subs if its not being updated. And it probably would save numerous calls to Support.

I wonder if there was an intercept announcement during the outage on the 204-CALL-MTS number saying if you are in Brandon, BellMTS is experiencing a hydro related service outage and your service will come back when the problem was fixed.

I know we can do messages like that at work to cut down direct calls to our support staff.
