I'd like to know if there is a speed I should be able to achieve over wifi on the Lightning 50 plan? Hardwired I see right around 50, but using the built-in wifi on the Pace 5168N I'm only seeing around 25.

Hi Jesse,

Doug is correct, the speed on wireless will always be lower than hardwired, as he said because of the additional wireless signals and devices around that can cause interference.  With this being said however 25 down is definitely lower than I would expect.  A couple things to check out and consider:

1. Does the device you are using have wireless N capability?  If not this can contribute to the slower speeds.
2. Are there any other wireless broadcasting devices in the home or radio devices that could be interfering?  Having a cordless phone, other wireless broadcasting device or even something with a strong electromagnetic field like a microwave or large speakers can interfere with your wireless signal if in the area.
3. Have you tried changing the broadcast channel to reduce the congestion from other wireless signals?  Sometimes simply changing the channel can help increase your speeds as well.  1, 6 and 11 would my suggestions as they are far enough apart to differentiate in the broadcast signal.  These channels can be changed by logging into your home router provided by us or you can call Technical Support and they can change it for you.

Hopefully these suggestions can help you get your speeds up a little bit.  I can't really give you a definitive number of what you should exactly get but to be honest I would expect to see over 35 down on a 50 meg connection.  Best of luck with your wireless adjustments and of course if you have any other questions or concerns this community is great for non time sensitive items and our Technical Support is available 24 hours a day for that on the spot help.
