League of Legends Consistantly Higher Ping than Before

Hello, I recently switched to MTS around 6 months ago. I play League of Legends. I used to have Shaw, which gave me 60 ping, but when I switched to MTS I had 80 ping. Recently, since about 2 months ago, it has been staying at 100 ping. Is there anyway to reduce the ping to 80 like it was before, or maybe even 60? I know a 40 ping difference doesn't seem like much, but once you're used to a lower ping, it really does make a difference in how you play.

It is in fact not just me, this is a similar problem.

have you tried doing a traceroute between your computer and the LoL server?  This will identify which leg of the route is causing the slowdown.

You can use a website like http://www.monitis.com/traceroute/ to see visually where the traffic is routing.

You also need to have a location to trace, from what I can find the following is a LoL IP at Riot Games in LA CA. - 216.52.241.254, this IP seems to show the routing is good until hoop 16 on router - cr2.la2ca.ip.att.net.  This is an East Coast server in the US.

So depending on where that final LoL server is located, and who your ISP has peering arrangements with, your route can be different.

I remember years ago playing a certain Online MMORPG and getting 60ms, and one day a peering relationship between 2 US pipes changes and I went to 180ms.  Nothing my ISP could do about it as it was a peering arrangement downstream.
