la broquerie internet congestion

After 2 phone calls to MTS internet tech support for slow and inconsistent internet speeds, I've been told that LaBroquerie is a high congestion area and has been for almost a year.  I was told this is a known problem, MTS does not have a timeline for a fix and there's nothing they could do.  They will not send a tech to my house as it will not resolve the issue.

Not reassuring considering I've been getting a consistent 6.5 and over speeds on a lighting reach plan for the 6 past years I've been here. Except in Sept 2014 when I had similar issues and it was resolved over night by the network guys.

I find it odd that the first tech guy does not mention this year old issue and says network will look into it and call back.  I was given no call back.  After a second call the news of nothing can be done.

7 is advertised and yes I know this is not a guaranteed speed, but drops to 1.5 or 2.5 during peak hours makes Netflix and Youtube impossible to watch.  Simple browsing is even slow.  I don't expect top speeds all the time, but at least something that is consistent and fair for the price.

This is not meant to be a rant, but what is a 10 year+ loyal MTS customer to do after he is told nothing will done?

Official Response
Pete - I heard from our Planning group this afternoon.  There are plans to increase the bandwidth on our transport link in February.  Apologies for the inconsistent messages you may have received. Utilization started to increase in September of 2014 and a plan was built at the end of the year to complete the work in early 2015.

When it is done I will post here.

Thanks again
