Is there any way to temporarily re-enable my email account?

I closed my MTS Internet account last month and I had thought I had moved all of my accounts off of my MTS mail account. Unfortunately, I had forgotten about my Dropbox account, which is still linked to that email address. I cannot get into Dropbox to update the email address because they expired my password and the only way to reset from there is through email.

I'm wondering if its possible for MTS to re-enable the email account for a few days so I can sort this out.

EDIT: I called MTS tech support. They can reactivate the email account for $5/Mo but I'll need to call back on Monday. I am incredibly relieved that I won't lose my 10GB of bonus Dropbox space.

That's good news they could restore it for you! Did they mention a time limit to do a restore? I think it used to be within 30 days.

Hi Amanda, it sounds like Dylan does not need any of his old emails recovered, only access to the account to allow Dropbox to send the password recovery code to it so he can get back into Dropbox and change his logonĀ  to a new email address.

That's where I like some other online companiesĀ  where they ask for a second email (work?) or a cell phone number so they can send a recovery email or text if the 1st email account is not available.

Hey Clifford, yes you are right about only needing it for dropbox. I was just hoping we could verify the timeframe to reactivate after an account has been shut down so we know for future reference. I think it goes into a hold state for a period of time before it becomes available again. At that point the email address could belong to someone else so Dylan wouldn't have been able get access to the email account for password recovery.

Agreed on secondary email. When I left MTS I forgot to change my LinkedIn account info so I was lucky to have a secondary email account on file. Phew!
