Is MTS looking at deploying G.Fast(A new type of DSL) in smaller communities or working with smaller communities to have them offset costs of better service?

Instead of having to bring Fibre to the home, G.Fast should allow you to bring Fibre to the Block. Then you only need to update stuff on the poles, and not the home cabling itself.

We've been following the development of G.FAST for some time and are evaluating it's potential. Alcatel Lucent and a Taiwanese telecom just announced at CES the first worlds first commercial deployment of G.FAST, (although ALU has had market trials around the world), so it's still a technology in it's infancy. The demographic here is quite different from a dense Asian population like Taiwan, and outdoor hardware is much tougher to build for climates like ours, however we are always engaged with new technology and work to bring those advances out to our customers.
