are you bringing your own device or buying one of the ones offered as part of MTS Evolve prepaid?

if you get one of theirs its all configured with the sim etc. You have the option of calling an 800 number to activate it or pay a service fee to the dealer to do it for you

If you don't have a proper MTS sim they will provide one (not sure if there is a cost).

Hopefully Gillian or one of the other MTS cell specialists will see this conversation and correct if necessary but when I had prepaid years ago it was tied to the phone number. like a post paid plan.

Hey Steve!

With MTS's pay as you go system - it's straight forward, flexible and you can choose your plan and features that you want, when you need them! There are no fixed term contracts, no credit checks and the best part is if you bring your own device you get a $60.00 activation credit.

In order to get up and running, you will have to head to one of our awesome MTS Connect stores. You will need to purchase a SIM card ($10.00) and there may be an additional charge for programming while you're there. ($25.00). In order for this to occur however, you will need to make sure that your device is unlocked if you were with another carrier previously.

When it comes to the plans, as mentioned you will be able to choose which suits you best. We do have monthly plans that include additional features such as text messaging. You'll get to keep these plans as long as you make sure there is a balance on your account to charge the plan one time monthly. We also offer the ability to just do a pay per use plan where you can add text messaging features on to as well. Hope this helps clear things up. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Cheers,
Gillian
