Does you house have overhead wires connected to it?

Does that wire go to a Hydro metee?

Are there two wires?

No overhead wires, but I do believe I am somehow connected to a hydro pole (guessing) I'm in a townhouse.

Hate to say it, but this time of the year is when all the slow speed and noise on phone line issues  start to come up.  With the spring thaw water starts to get into the cable pairs and causes all sorts of problems.

Best suggestion I have is to contact BellMTS and have them check it out.  You also mentioned you were in a townhouse so if its a rental or condo the inside wiring may be a responsibility of the landlord / condo board.

If you are in a multi-tenant building a check for overhead wiring is if there are utility poles near your property. It isn't 100% but Hydro burried their service cables before MTS and Shaw. Generally if there is any overhead wires odds are your internet comes that way.

Overhead cables are more likely to have damage from water penetration, freezing or even animals.

As for Fibe 50, as you have a degradation in service it is DSL service. Odds are there it is pair bonded service (uses effectively two phone lines). Its possible one pair is offline so doing a reboot on the gateway may help.

The other assumption being made here is there have not been any changes in the house recently like painting or remodeling? The reason for that question is trying to determine if there may be damage to inside wiring.

The end of the day though this likely comes down to an outside wiring issue that will require BellMTS to send out a technician and to get that to happen you will need to call into BellMTS support.
