International texting

In the past I have purchased 150 international text messages for $15 for travel to the US. I travel frequently as I live close to the border. Recently I called to get this again and the rep on the phone told me that I would need to keep it for 30 days then I could cancel it after that if I chose to. What is going on? I've never had to cancel anything before. In the past it was a $15 charge for 150 texts and that was it. Nothing else. No need to call and cancel anything. What am I cancelling???

No I was told I had to call back in a month to cancel it. I've never had to do it before. I would call ask for the 150 for $15 and that was it. When the 150 texts were used up, they were used up.

Funny you say that, I also have never had to call back to cancel, and also never have been charged for more than "30 days use."
My mom got it on her cell one month, from the guy at one of the stores.  He said it would cancel after the 30 days....She got automatically re-charged on her next bill, and had to call the customer service centre to have it removed (which MTS did).

It depends on the circumstances when you are adding the feature, but when you call Customer Care we can always set it up to be removed after one month, to save you from having to call back to cancel it. Kirk, I'm not sure why you were told that you would have to call back. Calling back to cancel is often recommended when your return date is uncertain.

Justin, I'm not sure that the representative in the store is capable of setting it up the same way so that it can be cancelled automatically. I'm sorry for the confusion there but it sounds like Customer Care was able to make it right.

Regardless of calling and cancelling. Is there a time limit on the texts now?? I was under the impression begore that I pay my $15 I got 150 texts until they were gone irregardless of time frame.

Hi Kirk,

If you add the $15 feature, you get 150 messages over the following month, which is how the feature has always worked.

So then the rep before lied to me. Cuz I was told there was no time limit on it. Nice!
