MTS now has started charging $75 (!!!) for 200 minutes and unlimited data. That's a lot more than $55 which MTS charged not long ago for the same plan. Looks like they are trying to make the Bell price hikes that are coming look smaller.

The calling is now Manitoba-wide on the 200 minutes.  There are other options available for less money but flat-rate data does come at a premium price, for a premium service.

I was considering to have my wife's number get switched to MTS (Total Internet + 200 mins). But at the end of the day I would have paid 5 dollars more compared to pretty much the same Fido's/Rogers plan (okay, okay, they offer 6 Gb of data not unlim BUT they treat all calls equally - no long-distance ever).

Keep in mind, Rogers and Fido plans are unlimited calling in Canada, so if you leave Manitoba you can still make unlimited calls anywhere in Canada, as with MTS's Manitoba Wide calling you will be charged if you are outside Manitoba. I do have a line with Rogers it has unlimited Canada Wide calling anytime of day, unlimited text message, 15GB of data, and voicemail and name display all for $75/month. Also remember MTS now charges $15 extra for flat rate calling with mobile hotspot, as it was only an extra $12 more before. Rogers doesn't charge more for mobile hot spot.
