How/when is Canadian data usage measured?

This sounds like a silly question, but I am wondering if someone can tell me when the "month' stops and ends for measuring Canadian data usage on wireless plans?  I have an iPhone with 300MB of Canadian data outside of Manitoba.  I just received my latest bill that included extra data usage.  I am a bit confused because during the month of July, I was outside of Manitoba for 2.5 weeks, and never got a notice about nearing my limit.  Then in August I never left Manitoba, yet my bill says I went over my 300MB limit.  Any help is very much appreciated :)

Your current monthly bill will always display usage charges from the previous month. For example if your bill cycle date is the 7th of each month your September bill will display usage details from August 8th-September 7th.
