What do I do!? Only had mts for two weeks so haven't got a bill with my account number on it so I can't get a hold of technical services because they need an account number to move forward with the call side I have no phone service with mts. Offices are closed so I can't get an account number!! This is a farce, already regretting switching over.

Official Response
This from AT&T troubleshooting  but also applies to MTS boxes

A RED X on your TV screen caused by the  receiver represents a boot failure, possible network issue, or hardware problem. It is recommended to check connections and attempt to power cycle the receiver by unplugging the power cord and plugging back in after 10 seconds.

If the problem comes back you may have a defective receiver.

As for contacting MTS other people have posted in different threads when you are not sure of your information  that if you don't put in an account number or phone number when prompted  the system will put you through to 24 /7 tech support.  I have not tried it so I can't say if it works as they say but its worth a try.

There is also support available MTS Facebook page and on Twitter  thru @MTShelps but they are now closed until 8am .

Also what part of the city are you in?  MTS's outage page is still showing that part of Inkster area is down because of a MB Hydro outage from earlier today.  You may have power but the power may be out to the street DSLAM box that provides the MTS TV signal to your area.  It may be on a different MB hydro feed that has not yet come up.
