Just Outta curiosity wondering if MTS is going to be increasing their internet speeds, Westman Communications Group recently took their middle package from 30 to 40 megabytes a second I believe MTS is still at 25mbs?

My understanding is in the best case scenario MTS single line DSL usually hits a Max of around 30 Mbps. After that they need to do pair bonding but that is a more costly solution and doesn't work when cabinets are nearing capacity.

Their way forward is going to be FTTH but that has a cost of approximately $2+ billion just for Winnipeg.

VDSL 2 that's deployed in Brandon is capable up to 50mbs and they have that package of 50 down and 5mbs up. With pair bonding they could probably make it a lot faster as well I had the 50mbs on just one pair rhink they use 2 if one won't work.

My connection is VDSL2 with about as new a copper wire as anywhere in the network and I can't even get 50 Mbps without bonding. I have had it checked. Under the most ideal circumstances BellMTS could market something like 80 but with pair bonding.

And the price just jumped to 75.95 for MTS 25mbps vs 70.95 for Westman 40mbps. Plus Westman has double upload speed.

Gonna lose some customers i think!

I've been watching this thread for a while now, anxiously awaiting any response from Bell-MTS.  All I hear is crickets.  Unfortunately this tells me all I need to know.  Slower service for more money.  I'm left with no reason to stay.
