Extremely Slow Data Speed on HSPA(3G) in Winnipeg Beach

The cellular data speeds in Winnipeg Beach are horrible in evenings and weekends! Where I am located I usually get 5Mbps over 3G with 3 signal bars. On evenings and weekend I get 0.5Mbps or less. If anyone else is in the area with this problem please let MTS know! I have been complaining about this area for 4 years now. LTE has been deployed in the area, but it does not reach everyone.

Good morning Dan,

We'd like some additional feedback if you wouldn't mind
Could you tell me if the speeds are the same this morning? Are they better/worse?

The speeds were a little bit better, likely due to residents gone home for the weekend. It is usually very slow on weekends mostly, so slow that it is unusable and apps and web pages time out on loading because of how slow the network is.

Thank you Dan!

I provided your feedback to our network team made and they made some adjustments to the 'cottage country' towers to assist with your speed issues, that was on Monday.
See how speeds are this weekend and reply back again, if you don't mind. :)

Not good news, Dan.
I will relay this feedback to our network team.
Thank you for taking the time to come back and tell us!

Dan, I can sympathize big time with your situation. Unfortunately, this situation is quite typical for much of rural Manitoba, or even areas just outside Winnipeg's perimeter. At the current snail's pace of improvements,  I really do not see much sign of hope. Some areas more than likely never will get any solution. LTE in the current mts/ rogers flavor is not the answer either because of the extremely limited penetration and reception issues.

I believe that it would be better to focus your efforts on regulatory authorities such as the CCTS.
I have found that they have little authority to force service improvements, but can and will negotiate refunds for services paid for but not received. In my dealings with the the CCTS, I have found the online complaint application process to be quite painless to use with swift results. Logging speed tests for different days and times will go a long ways to illustrate this pitiful performance.
