Noticed when my cell phone is on cellular data (not wifi) it shows as Docker Services as my ISP when I search my IP address. I’m not the only one with this happening. Any reason to why?

Hey Dan,
How are you obtaining the IP address from your device and where are you checking it against?  I went through my phone and did a whois on the IP's assigned.  Seems there is an IP hardcoded to the device then another assigned when your connected to data.  The IP that is hardcoded didn't really point to an ISP so it's possible this is the one you were checking, but the other did point to Bell MTS.  Also, I suppose the bigger question is what kind of issues is it causing?  The symptom may give more information than the results.

Dan brought this up on another site and he was using whatismyipaddress.com.

After seeing his posting I tried that site to see what mine was showing, and  my cell did the same thing.  Docker services when on cell data  and BellMTS  when accessing thru my MTS WiFi @ home.

I did some looking and Docker Services is a Container As a Services package so maybe its showing the default service display name.

I don't know about Dan but as far as I can tell it is not causing me any problems as everything I access thru apps and my cell browser are still working.

Very interesting.  I also looked up Docker Services (as I had no idea what it was) and found the same as you.  When looking into my IP I used ipchicken.com, and the IP address it returned did show as a Bell MTS IP while connected to data.  It's possible the different devices may be capturing different IP's from different pools, it's hard to say.
