I just cancelled services yesterday and followed this procedure posted on their website ...

"Disconnecting Your Service

To disconnect your Bell MTS services for any reason you must call 204-225-5687 or toll free outside Manitoba at 1-800-883-2054. As you are a valued customer, we would really like to speak with you prior to your disconnection to ensure that you have all the information needed to make your final decision.

Service cannot be cancelled via e-mail, web chat, social media or at a Bell MTS store.

Once you have called us, a customer service representative will advise you to drop off rented TV and/or internet equipment at any of the following Bell MTS equipment return locations:..."

All went smooth, now my son just cancelled TODAY, one day later and was told NOT to return the equipment and they were sending out a box to be returned via Canada Post... has anyone heard of this procedure???

It may be where he is located that triggers the mail back service.

Looking  at the list on the web page you referenced above there is no convenient return location for customers in Transcona, East/North/ West Kildonan since the 4L Communications locations converted to Telus from BellMTS.

The replacement BellMTS location at Kildonan Place actually had a sign up the last time I was by there in September saying they are unable to process equipment returns.

As the closest one for me would now be in Southdale mall  or St. Vital shopping center I would be happy to use postal return  option especially if it has a priority post label with a tracking number to prove that it was received.

Yes... I had to return everything to Southdale. It would have been nice to have the mail option

He lives closer to Grant Park Mall than I do ??? Plus, Shaw told him they would cancel MTS for him? Will find out more later and if a box ever arrives to return the equipment via Canada Post... seems like a costly way to do business.

Don't worry, the next bill increase of $3 to $5 per month should cover that. :)

It may actually cost less to ship by mail back to the salvage center than have a courier pick up the equipment on a scheduled basis from the Connect Stores depending on what is going back.

Now that Bell has bought MTS there may be large volume user discount in effect from Canada Post that MTS did not have before.

One of my friends just got a new router in the mail last week from Shaw. He was not offered the option of driving 2km to pick it up from the Shaw office at Kildonan Place

Hi Debbie,

Our consumer internet team advised me that we are in the midst of conducting a trial process using Canada Post toreturn Rental Equipment back to BellMTS.  So, some customers who contactus for equipment returns are randomly selected to participate in this trial, may be asked to use the new Canada Post method.

I hope that helps!

Thanks so much Tennille... poor kid thought he had it all wrong considering we did this just 2 days apart from each other.
