Hi  Since we no longer receive phone books, payphones are few and far between,  the only option other than online 411 is to call 411.  There is a charge to use this service, the option to dial this number when it is given to you is not an option at it once was, I get a text with the number and other info if I 411 from my cell.  Problem is, the 411 reps have a very difficult time understanding language, do not seem friendly and could not answer my question if there is a charge to use the service. I asked if they were located in Winnipeg or Canada and the response was the same, we are 411 directory assistance.. HELLO I know, I called you.  Is 411 farmed out to an overseas company and if so why?  Almost like speaking to the BORG, resistance is futile....

Hi there,

Clifford Lewis covered most of the information I would be able to provide you with regarding opting into receiving a White Pages directory going forward, so that you can locate listing without calling the 411 service. As well, the 411 Assistance line is still located in Canada when you call to speak with someone.

There is a $1.75 charge to contact 411 from either Landline, or Cell phone. If you use your Cell Phone to contact 411, you will receive a text notification with the listing confirmation at no additional charge.

I hope you find this information helpful!
