Cell phone contract expiring?

Hello,
My contract is expiring in February on my phone. I am wondering why I should remain an MTS customer? I have been shopping around looking at other plans and my bills and I'm a little bit disapointed after seeing how high they are! I really do like MTS services but am just concerned with this.

Thanks,
Gordon

The only reason we stayed with MTS was our bill was the lowest out of anyone we looked at and only ones offering unlimited data.

In my experience, if you bundle your internet and cell plan with MTS, it easily beats out any savings that you might get at other companies.  As long as the MTS plans have what you want.

Plus, I like to support a local company.

For me I find my bills have been almost $300 a month for a while. I have all MTS services! But for me it is really tempting to try out a competitor for tv and Internet for 6 month promo. I really do like MTS services but find that they are too expensive for me at this time.

I'm in the same boat.  Been with MTS forever, and yes, they are cheaper with bundling.  But the cons are starting to outnumber the pros.     Cheaper isn't always a better experience.

Exactly - in my opinion my contract is pretty much done! If I switch providers all I would have to pay is $50.00

My 2 main contentions are 1) the severe lack of choice in devices (easily the worst carrier choice I've seen)  and 2) the spotty network performance.  Two pretty big deals.

Hey Gordon,

Thanks for reaching out to us!  I'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way, but I'm happy you reached out to us because it gives us the ability to review your account and make sure that you're customized in a way that works for you and the services that you've got with us. I'm glad you like our services, because we like you and value your business!

MTS is a company that's focused on investing in our community, and I'm happy to report that we have the best Wireless Coverage in the province as well has having no caps on downloading. Those are just a few things that we offer, that our competitors do not.

We do have this great new option called Total Internet that may be a good fit for you. I would love to take a look through your services and provide options that could improve your service and give you what you feel to be fair value for what you pay monthly.

If you're interested in me doing so, please feel free to send an email to community@mts.ca

Thanks,
Gillian

Hey Gordon! Sorry about the delay - I happen to be a Wireless Expert and wanted to pull in a colleague to review your account to see what may be possible for you.

I will either give you a call today or send you an email response at some point today.

Thanks for your patience!
Gillian

On a pure feature for feature, dollar for dollar level pretty much every choice is going to be similar in Manitoba. The main benefit to MTS are: flat rate data on wireless so no overage fees ever, smaller channel bundles offering more control over your bill on tv and unlimited data on high speed Internet.

I agree the monthly bills are getting high but after the promotion price ends the other choices really are not any better. My main hope is that the upcoming OTT changes provide some added flexibility making it possible for family members living at different addresses to more easily share tv costs like they can currently do with Netflix and Shomi.

It might not be officially allowed. The way it works with Netlfix, where it is allowed, is each family member has a profile but there is only one user name and password. Then my daughter at school in Brandon, my wife and I in Winnipeg and son working in Alberta share the account. The video feed obviously comes over the Internet. OTT (over the top) offers a similar setup with CTV Go, TSN Go, Global Go, etc

You know what also would be nice, is if instead of only offering people $100 off if they switch to MTS, but offering some kind of incentive to renew the contract.
