Anyone else having issues with cell coverage in Sanford?
It goes from 5 bars on the highway to nothing in town.
As soon as you cross Mandan Ave. it starts going to s**t.
I've heard this from multiple people in town as well.
Any chance of this issue getting addressed?

Any updates on this. I've noticed there is a big hole in signal strength around Sanford. Hwy 3 is a pretty busy highway. Maybe time to put up a new tower?

I received an email from BellMTS asking a bunch of technical questions which I answered. Any updates on this guys? I can't use my phone in most of the town.

Good Afternoon JT,

When you go back to Sanford again, can you try setting your phone to HSPA only?

The path should be something like,
-Tabbed View-
Settings > (under Networks / Connectivity) More > Mobile Networks > Network Mode.

-List View-
Settings > (under Wireless Networks) More > Mobile Networks > Network Mode.

I'll be back in the office on Saturday, but could you let me know if there is any difference in your experience?

Thanks again
Justin

You're right the difference between HSPA and LTE seems marginal. I've forwarded those images off to our network technicians.

Thanks JT.

I feel like I'm repeating myself here but are there any updates on this issue?

I am sorry for the delayed response, the only update that I have is that the issue is still being looked at by our network technicians, they are looking into the possibility that there is some interference that is causing the problems you are experiencing in Sanford. I do not have an estimated time to resolution, but once we have more information we will let you know.

Thanks for the response. I hope there is a quick resolution as I am not just speaking for myself on this issue. I have spoken to many people around town and the level of frustration is getting extremely high. There are numerous non-MTS towers around of which space could be leased to install at bare minimum a repeater site in town but hopefully a full cell site. I realize the costs involved in the latter but considering the projected population growth in the area I hope it's considered.

It's been a month. Any timeline or progress updates.
I now have zero cell reception instead of -110 dBm. Getting a little frustrated.

I finally reached my breaking point with BellMTS, I've switched my mobile to Telus and I now have at least a little bit of coverage in Sanford. Next on my hit list is switching my internet. I've been getting 2.5 - 3.5 Mbps the last couple weeks. I've called and went on web chat to no avail. It's pretty evident that BellMTS could care less about having good services in rural areas. I've been barking up this tree for way to long now. Switching my internet to VISP for now. I hope others here have better experiences with BellTMTS.
