My son brought me one of his old phones, an HTC that I would like to activate on MTS. He was using this phone in Sk. on Sask Tel. Will there be a problem activating it here?

Hi Diane,
To use this device on the MTS network it would first have to be unlocked.  Usually when a device is purchased through a specific provider it is locked to that carrier, but can be unlocked.  The catch to this is it has to be unlocked by the carrier that provided it.  So what this means is if the phone was initially obtained from Sask Tel, then they would have to unlock it for you.  You best bet would be to give them a call and inquire what they require to unlock this device.
