Hi I was wondering what is the advantage I see that you can get a 30 down and a 5 megabits per second up for $69 a month so what is the 5 down and 5 mbs cost it just says call mts you think it would be a lot less than the 30 down and the 5 mbs up just a question lol.

There are other benefits to business lines included priority support and static IP addresses. They also have multi year contracts.

I know but for a 1 year contract the 30 down in the 5 up is only 69.99 a month but I see they also have something called Symantec Internet 5 down and 5 up but no price on it.

One thing that I would like to see is MTS offer residential customers 30/5 speeds. There should be no reason that residential customers can't get these speeds.

I'm not sure why they don't list pricing on Symetrical. My empoyer has it and I'm pretty sure its way more expensive than the other business plans they list, but I dont know why.

Personally I think they should offer residential plans that just include a set amount of bandwidth and you can choose how much is assigned to upload/download. So lets say you pay for 50mbps and you want it to be 40 down 10 up, or change it to 20 down 30 up.

With online backup and storage becoming much more common having piddly upload like 1 or 2 mbps is just not enough to use those services effectively.

Just wondering , is that a wireless speed test you are showing as it doesn't look like the internet speed test from Shaw that I have bookmarked on my PC.

I have the lightning 10 with Ultimate TV and get about 11.5 mbps using that test. (in EK around Kimberly / Brazier area).  I have never run a speed test on my smartphone as I don't use data that much.

I'm on Kimberly at Henderson - practically neighbours! All my devices are wireless. It is speed test mobile app. I get same speed on my laptop.

They are wired internet speeds. If you go way back to pre-Ultimate TV days MTS used to actually include the speed bump in its official offering. I have also seen it in a couple of different neighbourhoods now. Back in the Lighting20 days I was getting Lighting25 effectively. Never had Lighting50 so can't comment on if it happens there too.

Yikes it's 359 a month on a 5-year contract.
