BellMTS is charging me for calling toll free number. It has happened after I got first bill on Jan.21. I've called them and they just adjusted the bill and told me there were a glitch. Now I've got new bill with $32 extra charge. They are telling me that is because I called 877 number which is my alarm company toll free number and was free for years. I have unlimited plan but even if I hadn't there should be no charge for a toll free numbers no matter what. Besides, there is no message played about extra charges when you call that number. So there is no way to know if you get $1000 bill in the end of the month.

Have you contacted your alarm company to ask them about this issue?

The reason I am asking is the alarm company has to buy toll free service from a  toll free provider and if there is a problem with how their provider has provisioned the service when you call the 8xx toll free number it may not be registering as a toll free call in the Somos Inc. data base that all Telco's use to route and bill toll free calls.

It could be that the alarm company has ported its toll free number or the local number the toll free number forwards over to, to a new provider and things are not working properly.  As a customer you would have no idea if they change providers unless problems happen.

And if nobody calls the alarm company they won't be aware of problem with their provider either.
