I was at the Winnipeg Grant Park Centre BellMTS store this morning and there was this new sign outside promoting the Apple Watch 3 LTE Cellular so I asked a Rep for the details.

She told me that her store is BOTH Bell Mobility and BellMTS and the Apple Watch 3 LTE Cellular promotion is only for existing Bell Mobility customers.  Existing BellMTS customers have to cancel their plan, incur a cancellation fee, and then sign up as new Bell Mobility customers in order to pay $5/mth for the Apple Watch 3 LTE Cellular feature plus a $10 activation fee.  In other words, you will no longer be a BellMTS customer but a new Bell Mobility customer.

You also have to buy your Apple Watch 3 LTE at the Apple Store at Polo Park, Best Buy, The Source, or Sportcheck!

Why is it only in Manitoba does Bell Canada have a separate BellMTS entity that Bell Canada owns?

Bell Alliant also exists and was acquired in a very similar manner to MTS.

In my opinion, CRTC would never have approved the purchase of MTS if Bell had intended to dismantle MTS and move all the MTS customers to Bell Canada.

It makes sense because MTS has history in the province of Manitoba. I’m sure In time BellMTS will get the Apple Watch service. You also will never likely see BellMTS in other parts of Canada as BellMTS is a Manitoba brand. I hope that answers some or your questions

In my eyes...customers should be allowed a "once in a lifetime" switch from BellMTS over to Bell mobility without incurring any fees. Its not advertised, but I have heard that Rogers will allow just this kind of thing for a customer wanting to move to Fido.
