I was just wondering if there are plans to improve the speeds offered. Specifically the upload rate on the 25/2 plan. In my opinion, it is absolutely pathetic as some US cities pay similar rates for 30/25 plans.
Why is it that the upload rates on MTS's Plans are still what they were over 5 years ago? The way we people user their computers has changed. People use Video-chat, share files, upload content to youtube, etc... Why don't we get the bandwidth to feasibly upload in high-quality?
It's really frustrating when I try to send a file to a friend and I have to say "alright, you'll get it in about 36 hours", or when I try to access my desktop from home at a rate of 1 frame every 10 seconds.

I was thrilled to see the bandwidth on my plan increase from 20 to 25 last year, but I wish some of that would be upstream bandwidth. At this rate, if there was any better internet provider in this region, I'd use them instead.

We review our speed plans regularly to ensure we're offering competitive plans that meet the needs of our customers. In 2013 we introduced the Lightning 50 plan (up to 50 Mbps download and up to 5 Mbps upload speeds) to provide more speed choice to customers who are not eligible for our FiON plans.

Our FiON plans introduced in 2012 (FiON 50, FiON 100 and FiON 250) include greater upload speeds varying from of 5 Mbps, 15 Mbps, or up to 30 Mbps, depending on the plan selected. If you're unsure whether you're eligible for FiON, send us an email at with your address and we can verify.

We appreciate hearing all of your feedback about the upload speeds of our current internet plans though, and it has been passed along to the team developing the plans for future consideration.

Have a great weekend!
