Hi, in the past month we have been experiencing less than desirable internet service from MTS in Altona. I can say Altona because I have, along with many other people been monitoring the average speeds from all around the town. At one point we were getting 1.5Mbps (7Mbps plan) from 8:00PM to sometime during the night/morning(I usually call it a night at midnight so I don't know past then). Every time I contact MTS I get told it is due to rural congestion. I understand there are priorities in making sure the network runs smoothly all over Manitoba, however I have been reading about problems stretching from Winkler to Altona. I keep getting told that there are no plans to even consider Altona getting on the list for FiON yet smaller towns such as Niverville are already in progress, I would like to know how these towns are chosen and justified.
Another problem I am having is that MTS is charging us in Altona almost the same price as people in Winnipeg who are getting 10Mbps. I think Altona residents should get a permanent discount
