I received a letter today from MTS. Apparently at the beginning of this month my wireless account moved to a numbered company within MTS called Limited Partnership. Then mid March it will change again to another numbered company called Canada Inc. The letter states that this is part of the plan leading up to the completion of the sale of MTS and the beginning of Bell MTS. So I have two questions:

1)Does this mean I am part of a plan to move to Telus or some other entity?
2)What happens to my bundle? My other account is my discounted Internet account because my two wireless devices and security system and it is not mentioned in today's notification at all.

Thank you.

At this point it appears just to be shuffling the wireless customers out of MTS into numbered holding companies owned by MTS.

As stated in the letter I received nothing will change for the customers at this time so the bundles etc will still be happening as normal.

I look at it as not being any different for the customers as when MTS Communications Inc., MTS Mobility Inc. and MTS Advanced Inc. all existed as separate companies before they were all merged into Manitoba Telecom Services Inc.  As a customer the service and billing were no different.

If the Bell purchase goes through then some cell customers could be reallocated to other providers but that is still to be determined by the Fed Govt regulators

Until they're not. This is a very suspicious way of conducting business. If Industry Canada approves this it is madness.

"Hey, here's  good idea, let's make less carriers in Manitoba. What do you think? How many people will make more money? OMG yes let's do this"

Hi there!

We appreciate your concerns, but can assure you that receiving this letter has no impact to you or your service. It's a mere formality to keep you in the loop as part of the planning process of combining MTS and Bell.  Everything that you enjoy about MTS remains the same.

As your cellular service continues to be with MTS; no changes will be made to your Bundling so long as you continue to meet the eligibility requirements. Based on what you've mentioned; you'll be just fine.

Cheers,
Gillian

Gillian once the transaction completes and 1/3rd of your customers will be "sold" to Telus will I as a customer get a choice if I want to stay with Bell MTS or will I be forced to become a Telus customer. That part has bothered me regarding this whole transaction. Thank you.

Gordon,

I believe you've asked this question before, and the answer at this point remains the same. I can't provide an answer to it as there's no information available on the topic at the moment.

I can assure you though, that our customer's best interests are at the heart of the matter of what's developing and transpiring here. Once information on the topic has been determined and available for release, I'll be sure to loop back here and update the string.

Cheers,

Gillian
