50+ Returned Emails I didn't send

I use a mac probook and exclusively use the new MTS mail online, but our family desktop does use a POP client (Thunderbird) for all my family emails.  Starting a few days ago I've been receiving 10s of messages claiming undeleverable mail (that I didn't send).

The start of the mail says:
This message was created automatically by the mail system (ecelerity).

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

<email address> (after RCPT TO): 550 5.1.1 User unknown

There is quite a bit more in the emails but hoping this will be sufficient info to solve this.

Official Response
Hy AJ,
One of two things likely happened.  Your account has either been hacked, in which case someone else is using it to send spam emails and thus the no delivery returns hit your mailbox, but you wouldn't see anything sent as they are likely using a POP mail client.  The other possibility is that someone is sending out spam and spoofing your address, this is less likely from the looks of the headers but those spammers are getting pretty tricky.  My best suggestion at this point to try and counteract is 1. Run an updated virus scan on any device you use to access mail (I think you mentioned  you already did this part) and 2. Update your password to a new secure one and change your secret question.  These steps would at the very least prevent anyone that hacked your account from getting in again.  As for the account being spoofed that is much harder to diagnose, catch and address as there is no way to know where the messages are coming from or to really stop or block them.  I hope the scan and password change does it for you though as that would be the simplest solution.
