Question. I have the $20 starter plan + unlimited data ($30) + 200 minutes ($10) total $60.

My contract is done at the end of the month.... If I stay month to month do I get to keep my lower priced plan? I noticed the exact plan I have (except now you allow 5gb canada wide vs 2gb) is now $15 more per month. $35 starter, $30 data and $10 minutes = $75.

At those prices I'm going to look to get my own device and just stay month to month. $15 x 24 months = $360. Plus your LG G5 is 99.99....Rogers and others its free.

Guess Bell already is working Their magic. Starter went from $20 to $25 in the spring and now $35...crazy.

So other than my rant my question is..... When my contract is over.... Does my monthly rate remain the same or should I be looking for a new provider?

Thanks for your help.

Hey K,

Great question!

I would have to say, I don't think anyone's idea of a good time is seeing a price increase. They are however, necessary based on the nature of the business that we're in. They are required from time to time to ensure the quality of service that our customers have come to expect from MTS as their carrier.

I have touched on this in the past, in terms of what goes down when we do price changes for wireless. Hope this helps clear up your concerns: This  change affects residential and small business customers who customize a MyPlan on a new activation or a hardware upgrade or a new month to month, 12/24 month contract.

Existing customers will not be affected by this price change unless they perform a hardware upgrade, or need to change their voice or data bucket. If you're happy with your plan as is, you're good to keep things as they are right now. No changes will be made to your pricing unless you need to complete one of the above transactions, such as doing an upgrade or needing a different minute/data bucket or an upgrade. If you're off contract at the time of doing your change for voice or data, you'll be eligible for the $25.00 starter plan over the $35.00 starter plan; as this pricing is specifically for smart phones on contract.

Cheers,
Gillian
